Mildred Frances Lassiter Futrell
Mildred Frances Lassiter Futrell, 90, passed away September 26, 2018. She was a longtime member of Ashley's Grove Baptist Church in Conway, NC and very active in the community helping whenever she could as needs arose. She was born in Lasker, NC to the late Ellis and Meadie Lassiter into a farming family. She was predeceased by her dear husband, Howard Futrell, her bother, EJ Lassiter, Jr. and sister, Lucy Lassiter.
She is survived by sons: David Futrell (Delma), Donnie Futrell (Wanda) and Keith Futrell. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Luke Futrell (Lou), Dana Thompson (Gene) and Lance Futrell (Amanda), three step-grandchildren Brad White, Brandon White, and Brayden Yandle, four great grandchildren: Keelie Britt (Neal), Chase Futrell, Grayson Thompson and Colt Futrell, two great-great grandchildren Easton Britt and Paisley Britt, as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.
She graduated from Woodland-Olney High School and married into a farming family. She worked on her family farm for many years and helped her husband operate Perdue chicken houses. She also worked outside of the home at Mylecraft Manufacturing in Rich Square, Rollic Manufacturing in Murfreesboro and Wal-Mart as a greeter in her later years. She was a devoted farmer's wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral Service- Jackson Chapel, 313 East Jefferson St. Jackson, NC 27845 on Saturday evening, September 29, 2018, from 6:30-8:00 PM and all other times at the home of David and Delma Futrell, 9799 US 258 Hwy Murfreesboro, NC 27855. A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 30, 2018, at 2:30 at Ashley's Gove Baptist Church, 2152 Ashley's Grove Road, Conway, NC 27820 with the Reverend David Ross officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ashley's Grove Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You", to the 3rd floor staff at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital and to the staff at Rich Square Healthcare.
